A longtime coach for WIDE World, Anne is now using her experience in Teaching for Understanding, coach development, and curriculum reform to instruct our current TfU 2 course.  Anne was introduced to WIDE World when she took part in the Project Zero Summer Workshop for International Schools in 2001 and then took the WIDE World course on Assessment.  Over the course of her educational career, she taught science and swimming at the International School in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, and worked in the Education Department of London's Natural History Museum. Short-term assignments have included work on museum education in Thailand and India and on the development of a Visitors' Center for Tanzania's Serengeti National Park.

After ten years of teaching Biology and Environmental Systems at the International School of Brussels, she has recently moved to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.  There she is working with the Addis Ababa University Higher Diploma Program for Teacher Educators to promote Teaching for Understanding in a new and challenging context.  In addition, Anne is also working with staff of the Addis Ababa Museum to develop their exhibition program and she is helping write a new 7th grade Biology textbook for an Ethiopian publishing house.  She completed an MA in Zoology at Oxford University and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education at Cambridge University.  She also has a BA from the UK's Open University with a major in Environment and Development.
