Basic Facts
WIDE World is committed to providing online and onsite professional development programs that enact the best and most current research-based findings. We work with education experts and leading researchers to ensure that our programs reflect current and proven instructional methodologies.
Since 1999, WIDE World has instructed and coached over 13,000 educators from nearly 100 countries and from 6 continents. We provide services to over 350 school district, state, or regional educational institutions around the world.
Our course participants are classroom teachers as well as school and district leaders and come from many different kinds of schools including urban, suburban, public, and private. Although our participants represent a very diverse range of backgrounds and learning environments, they consistently report that the WIDE World experience has had significant impact on their teaching practice with over 90% of respondents stating they would recommend the course to a friend or colleague.
Based on online course surveys and selected case studies, the Research and Evaluation Department has systemically collected and analyzed concrete ways in which our course participants learn from online courses and apply their understanding to teaching practice. In the case studies, for example, we conduct individual or focused group interviews and classroom observations, as well as employ teaching portfolios.
